In addition to administering the Fulbright Program in Ecuador, the Fulbright Commission in Ecuador is an official academic advising center from the EducationUSA network. In Ecuador, EducationUSA runs two academic advising centers: one in Quito and one in Guayaquil. The national coordination of the academic advising services is based in Quito, at the center hosted by the Fulbright Commission. The EducationUSA network is affiliated with the US Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. EducationUSA strives to provide accurate, comprehensive, and current information on educational opportunities in the United States. Additionally, the EducationUSA advising centers operate a reference library and an advisory service for people interested in studying in the United States, regardless of the level of study. The academic advising services from the EducationUSA centers are offered to the public free of charge.
Millions of students receive information about educational opportunities in the US through EducationUSA advising centers every year. This service is provided by professional educational advisors, many of whom have had their own educational experiences in the United States and/or have been trained under the standards of the U.S. Department of State on the higher education system in the U.S. and the academic advising process.
