The Fulbright International Scholarship for Doctoral Studies in Science and Technology recognizes and rewards academically and professionally excellent people who have demonstrated strong leadership skills, offering grants for Ph.D. studies in the United States.
The United States has been a leader in education world-wide, especially in the fields related to scientific research and development.
Applicants to the program should be responsible citizens who can present a thorough and current perspective of Ecuadorian culture and, thus, contribute to the friendship and understanding between the United States and Ecuador. The scholarship contest is an open competition searching for academic and professional excellence and will consider all candidates with no discrimination on the basis of ethnicity, religion or gender.
Two Ecuadorian candidates will be selected and nominated to the second phase of the competition as representatives of Ecuador. The world-wide competition will be managed in Washington D.C. by the ECA and the Fulbright Scholarship Board. Requirements
A university degree appropriate to degree sought (BA/BS, equivalent to a Licenciatura in Ecuador for master programs, or MA/MS, equivalent to those in the U.S. for work towards a Ph.D.).
Ecuadorian citizenship, neither US residency nor dual citizenship, and residence in Ecuador at the time of contest.
A TOEFL score of 575 (PBT) or 90 (iBT) or IELTS score of 6.5.
A GRE score of 1200 (V Q).
University GPA equivalent to 8/10 or higher.
Be no older than 50 years of age.
Commitment to return to Ecuador for 2 full calendar years after completing studies.

Note: We offer an aptitude test equivalent to the GRE that will be used ONLY for the pre-selection of candidates applying to this program.
La Beca Fulbright Internacional para Estudios Doctorales en Ciencia y Tecnología cubrirá gastos de colegiatura, manutención, transporte, seguro médico, material didáctico y actividades culturales-académicas sólo para el becario por máximo tres años. Los gastos de tiempo adicional que el becario necesite para completar su programa académico serán cubiertos por la universidad en la cual se encuentre matriculado.
