Fulbright Foreign Student
Program
The Fulbright Foreign Student Program recognizes and
rewards academically and professionally excellent
Ecuadorians who have demonstrated strong leadership
skills, offering grants for Master and Ph.D. studies in
the United States.
Applicants to the
program should be responsible citizens who can represent
Ecuador to contribute to the friendship and understanding
between the United States and Ecuador.
REQUIREMENTS
An aspiring
candidate must have:
- A university
degree appropriate to degree sought (BA/BS,
equivalent to a Licenciatura in Ecuador for
master programs, or MA/MS, equivalent to those in
the U.S. for work towards a Ph.D.).
- Ecuadorian
citizenship, neither US residency nor dual
citizenship, and residence in Ecuador at the time
of contest.
- A TOEFL
score of 575 (PBT) or 90 (iBT) or IELTS score of 6.5.
- A GRE score
of 1100 (V+Q) or GMAT score of 640 minimum. Many
fields require higher scores.
- University
GPA equivalent to 8/10 or higher.
- Be no older
than 42 years of age.
- Commitment
to return to Ecuador for 2 years after completing
studies.
- MBA
candidates must have three years work experience
after finishing their studies in the
Business/Administration field. Candidates for
degrees in law should also demonstrate work
experience.

*We are offering
an English exam and an aptitudes test which will be
used ONLY for pre-selection of candidates applying for
the Fulbright Scholarship. The exams will be offered on a specific date at 9:00am in Quito and Guayaquil
and they will only be given if candidate has
submitted application.

FINANCING
- The Fulbright
Foreign Student Program grants a partial award to cover maintenance
and living expenses, round trip and health insurance for the
selected grantee only for a maximum of two academic years.
- Cost of Tuition - Most U.S.
Institutions will award a partial or total tuition and fees
reduction award to our Ecuadorian grantees based on their academic
and professional records.

If a candidate receives a partial award, he/she will need to
demonstrate enough funds to cover the differences in tuition and/or
living expenses. These funds could be demonstrated through
personal savings, loans and other grants.
- Pre-Academic Program
RESTRICTIONS
- Scholarships
are not granted for clinical areas of study.
- Scholarship
can not be deferred. If a candidate can not
accept the scholarship for the year awarded s/he
must decline the scholarship but can reapply for
the following year.
